Three American Teachers Slaughtered for Christian Faith in Muslim World

CBN News

Why was Ronald Thomas Smith II, an American teaching at Benghazi’s International School, shot to death last Thursday in Libya, even as he “was looking forward to his first Christmas in the United States with his wife and toddler son”?

Ronald Smith with wife and child

Most Western media and analysts dismiss the killing as a random act of violence incited by a recent al-Qaeda video.

However, by connecting the dots and looking at precedence, it appears that Smith’s Christianity, specifically his talking about it among Muslims, was the motive behind the slaying.

First consider two facts gleaned from the AP report, “American killed in Benghazi remembered as ‘much loved teacher’”: 1) Smith once had plans to attend seminary, a place devoted to preparing Christians to share the Gospel—a crime according to Islamic law (recall the Coptic Christians tortured and killed on the accusation that they were proselytizing in Libya); 2) according to his home church in Texas, “Ronnie’s [Smith’s] greatest desire was for peace and prosperity in Libya and for the people of Libya to have the joy of knowing God through Christ” (emphasis added).

Then there is the fact that Smith was a “much loved teacher”—a phrase that immediately, if not eerily, brings to mind another very similar story of another “much beloved” American teacher who was killed in the Islamic world for talking about Christianity.

On March 1, 2012 in Iraq, Jeremiah Small—described as “beloved teacher and friend”—was shot to death by a student, even “as he [Small] bent his head to pray at the start of a morning class. The 33-year-old teacher from Washington State took bullets to the head and chest and died at the scene.” According to students, “Mr. Jeremiah’s hands were still folded in prayer when he fell.” A day before the shooting “a heated discussion” broke out “during which the pupil threatened to kill the teacher because of conflicting religious views.”

As with Smith, Small was described as a very devoted teacher and friend to his students; and as with Smith, the official story as reported by mainstream media, such as the Wall Street Journal, is that the motive for his murder was a “mystery.”

Jeremiah Small with students

Yet, according to interviews with family and friends, Small “was a devout Christian who frequently praised Christianity and prayed in the classroom, and his friends in Washington said his evangelism is what motivated him to teach in Iraq… but he wasn’t pushy.” Moreover, the father of the student who killed Small, before killing himself, said that Small was trying to convert his son to Christianity and described Christians like the slain American teacher as “more dangerous than al-Qaeda.”

The fact is, Americans attacked and/or murdered for merely talking—or being suspected of talking—about Christianity is not an uncommon phenomenon in the Islamic world.

Thus, a few days after the killing of Jeremiah Small in Iraq, on March 18, 2012, yet another American teacher, Joel Shrum, 29, living in Yemen with his wife and two children, was shot eight times and killed by gunmen and members of  the Supporters of Sharia (which operates a wing in the new Libya created by the U.S.). The group later issued a message saying, “This operation comes as a response to the campaign of Christian proselytizing that the West has launched against Muslims,” calling Shrum “one of the biggest American proselytizers.”

Lest there is still any doubt concerning the violence that often sparks up when Christians, in this case, Americans,  are seen as sharing the Gospel with Muslims, consider the following anecdotes, both from Muslim countries regularly touted for being “moderate”:

In Indonesia, October 2011, after they were accused of proselytizing to Muslims, an American family was attacked by “an enraged mob spurred by a local religious leader”; the Muslim mob set fire to Americans’ property and vehicle: “Only the intervention of police saved the[ir] lives.”

Joel Shrum with wife and sons

In Bangladesh, February 2012, three American Christians were injured by broken glass after their car was attacked by another Muslim mob that suspected they were converting Muslims: at least 200 angry locals chased their car, throwing stones at it.

As for the Obama administration’s response to the murder of Smith, it asked the Libyan government to “thoroughly investigate” the killing—a somewhat pointless request, considering the U.S.-supported Libyan government openly arrests Westerners accused of “proselytizing,” threatening them with the death penalty.

And that’s the point: while Western media and their talking heads habitually dismiss such coldblooded murders as “random” and “mysterious,” incited by al-Qaeda—that one blame-all “terrorist” organization that everything can be heaped upon—the unspoken fact is that these attacks are products of Islamic teachings; in this case, that openly challenging the truths of Islam with another set of truths—such as the Gospel—is strictly forbidden, often on pain of death.

Raymond, Thank you for making available the news about Christians being persecuted and murdered for their faith by Muslims. All we hear about here (in the U.S.) is how Muslims are persecuted, but that usually comes from CAIR.

The Koran and Hadith teach killing “people of the Book”, i.e. Jews and Christians. It is no coincidence that this happens in Muslim countries.

When Muslims say that Islam is a religion of peace, they are partially telling the truth. Islam is a religion of peace when Islam represents a minority in a country. However, as followers of Islam increase in number, then it is no longer a religion of peace, but a religion of persecution and murder.

To those who are told that Islam is a religion of peace, I say look to those countries where Islam is the majority religion, and you will see the most violent and oppressive culture on the face of the earth. When there are no minorities left to persecute or kill, they begin to kill each other.

Sickening. Admit the truth – there can never be harmony with muslims and any other religion – their allah and pervert idol are an evil blight upon this earth.

    • Nisma

could you please tell me the pervert idol you are referring to because as a muslim we don’t worship idols its against our faith. kindly get your facts straight before taking about any religion. I am sorry about some people who claim to be muslims and think its okay to kill innocent people but that is not what islam is about those individuals are ignorant about it themselves. Just for your reference “whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.” is a direct quote from the holy Quran (5:32).

      • DogWithoutSlippers

Maybe you are a devote person. Islam did not exist until mid-600′sAD so tell me how these verses in the koran hold any water?:
Al-Muminun 23)Noah existed way before allah who mohammed said appeared to him in the 600′sAD………..also, An-Nami 54) Lot was hundreds of years before the creation of islam by mo.
Or was allah simply unknown before he was discovered by mo?
        Tell me.

        • Nisma

The Quran talks about all of the other messengers you are referring to in your text. Unfortunately I don’t have the time to first teach you the Quran itself before having a rational and educated debate with you so if you would like to have a peaceful and educated debate I suggest you study the matter that you are so irrationally bashing. Also I would again suggest you read a little on bias before you read people like Raymond and Dr. Bill Warner. If you would like authentic resources to learn about the Quran I would be more than happy to provide them to you otherwise I would not like to waste my time talking to an islamphobic individuals (apologizes in advance if otherwise).
P.s the individuals who your are referring to Muslims are in no way considered Muslims In my dictionary and please refer to the holy prophet with his full name prophet Muhammad may the peace mercey and blessing of Allah be with him. I am not sure of which faith you belong to but all of the holy scriptures before the Quran (ie theTorah, psalms, gospel) have mentioned about a final messenger that would come with the final treatment which we believe is the Quran.

          • ohyehbelievit

Koran is horse crap! @Nisma, if you knew anything about it you’d know that for sure if you have an IQ above 100.

          • Nisma

May Allah grant you inner peace and some tolerance. Until then I am sorry you have so much hate and intolerance within you. May Allah show you the path of true peace.

          • ohyehbelievit

Allah don’t exists; it’s funny but I never see you defend the Koran with passages; as I take it that even you know there’s really no defense for the deeds and actions of Mo; please enlighten me as to the benevolence of Mo by having all the males (600) with pubic hair beheaded and their wives and children raped and sold into slavery; was it his way of granting them inner peace? Most of the Koran is about how to treat to non-believers and no unbiased reader word say it’s anything but barbaric savagery; words have consequences and that’s why wherever you find Islam dominate, you find human backwardness and suffering.

          • Nisma

where are you getting your information from? Before Muhammad (pbuh) women were treated as animals, they had no status in society they were treated as mistresses and ate and lived outside their homes when menstruating. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) uplifted their status example as follow

“O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should you treat them with harshness, that you may take away part of the dowry you have given them – except when they have become guilty of open lewdness. On the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If you take a dislike to them, it may be that you dislike something and Allah will bring about through it a great deal of good.” [Noble Quran 4:19]

its ironic that you frown upon islam allowing men to give woman a status in society and their home by marrying unto 3 women (and even that is because there are much more women in this world than men so that was established to eradicate other social problems such as prostitution, women smuggling etc) but its okay for men around the world to have mistresses whom they have affairs with and give no respect and social status to.

          • ohyehbelievit

It’s apparent from the comment that you’re mentally challenged; women are still treated like animals in many Islamic countries; women apparently were doing OK as Mo alledgedly married a widowed older of means; there’s nothing in the Koran that is enlightened in regards of women; truly, you are deluded person; please take your meds and/or reread the Koran; there’s nothing noble about it; it’s complete crap; now go wipe your arse with your hand and drink some camel urine!

          • ohyehbelievit

P.S. I don’t care what the Bible says as I’m not Christian.

          • heapologiatoutimotheou

Uh, I’m pretty sure Muslim women, especially those living in the West who can know what true freedom is really like, might disagree with you.

As for non-Muslim women, Muslim men are still allowed to enslave, rape, and kill them however they see fit, and we see this bear out in history books and newspapers.

Muslim men are allowed four wives (again, I think this is something most women would find reprehensible), but they can have as many non-Muslim sex-slaves as they can handle.

          • Nisma

Christianity teaches tolerance and acceptance towards other faiths. I understand that the media has blamed the poor choices of certain minorities who claim to do evil in the name of Allah but those individuals are misguided people. Blame people not the religion, please find me one verse from the quran with the reference that suggests doing harm to anybody. The quran teaches tolerance, love and peace.

4:79, 80 (Say to everyone of them,) ‘Whatever good betides you is from God and whatever evil betides you is from your own self and that We have (O Prophet) sent you to mankind only as a messenger and all sufficing is God as witness. Whoso obeys the Messenger, he indeed obeys God. And for those who turn away, We have not sent you as a keeper.”

7:53, 54 And tell my servants that they should speak in a most kindly manner (unto those who do not share their beliefs). Verily, Satan is always ready to stir up discord between men; for verily; Satan is mans foe …. Hence, We have not sent you (Unto men O Prophet) with power to determine their Faith.

21:107 to 109 (O Prophet?) ‘We have not sent you except to be a mercy to all mankind:” Declare, “Verily, what is revealed to me is this, your God is the only One God, so is it not up to you to bow down to Him?’ But if they turn away then say, “I have delivered the Truth in a manner clear to one and all, and I know not whether the promised hour (of Judgment) is near or far.”

DONT BE PUPPETS TO WHAT THE MEDIA FEEDS YOU. TRY TO DISECT THE INFORMATION GIVEN TO YOU. YES SOME PEOPLE HAVE DONE WRONG AND ALLAH WILL MAKE THEM PAY FOR THE INNOCENT LIVES TAKEN AWAY. BUT THE ONLY PEOPLE PRESENTED IN MEDIA ARE WHO HAVE THE MONEY TO PORTRAY THEIR OWN AGENDAS.

Also we as Muslims believe in Jesus and love him deeply as he was a messenger sent by Allah (just our way of saying God the one God we all worship). We however do not believe that Jesus is the son of God as God is eternal and does not have a heir. he is not in any way human nor does he produce an offspring. in many verses of the bible jesus tells his people not to worship him and the creation alone

            King James 2000 Bible
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

Liar! Your taqiyya isn’t being bought here. ALL of the Meccan verses about “tolerance” of other faiths were abrogated by the later – Medina – verses. You either know that and are lying, or you don’t really know your foul “religion”.

Islam is NOT the truth! It’s the best and longest-running con that Satan ever pulled. Unfortunately, its primary victims are Muslims themselves who will never know the love of a loving God. Jesus Christ DID die; and he died for you as well as for me. Don’t believe me? Ask, with a sincere heart, for God to show you the truth. He will.

And to those who question how God can be three persons… Well, in order to be able to fully comprehend this we would need to be God, which we are not. It is impossible for us, not for God. It is not within human understanding to be able to explain that completely, that is why Jesus Christ referred to Himself as the Son of the Father. Jesus, by His divine nature was/IS God; but in His Human nature, was less than God. However, Jesus, in His humility, did not see equality with God, the Father, as something to be grasped at (unlike Lucifer/Satan). The closest I’ve ever heard anyone be able to explain this “Three-in One” phenomenon is a nun on EWTN: Mother Angelica. The way she explained it was that we – each of us – is one human being; but we each have memory, intellect and will. Those are three separate and distinct parts of each of us; but they are not separate FROM us.

Jesus Christ IS God. God came to us as a human so that His birth, His works, what He said, His death and His resurrection could be recorded in history. He paid the penalty for ALL the sins of humanity, since we would be unable to do so without suffering eternal death. God is love, but He is also just; and penalty for sin MUST be paid. God loved us so much that He took that penalty upon Himself so that we could once more be united with Him. Instead of arguing about whether or not Jesus Christ was crucified, we should be down on our knees with tears of humility and gratitude, thanking Him for His love and His sacrifice.

I know that it does not look like strength for God to “die” in such a horrible and ignominious manner, but He did. Jesus said that “No one takes my life. I have been given authority to lay down my life, and to take it up again.” Therein is Christ’s victory over Satan, over sin and over death; and believe me, it pissed Satan off no end. Satan hates God; but his arms are too short to box with God, so his plan was to get back at God by attacking God’s children. That’s us. The Almighty and ever-loving God does not want any of us lost to Him; but He gave us (as He gave the angels) free will – to love and serve Him, or to reject Him. Satan wants us – every one of us – to suffer as he does; and to lose the joy of life everlasting with a loving God.

Here are some ways you can tell that the one who Mohammed supposedly was quoting was NOT God, but Satan:

            * Almighty God is the author and architect of LIFE, not death. Pain, death and suffering only came to be because our first parents (Adam and Eve) were seduced by Satan to disobey God. It was Satan who was – and still is – a liar and “a murderer from the beginning”

            * Almighty God is NOT proud. He humbled Himself to become one of us in every way but sin; and died a horrible and shameful (in the eyes of man) death on a cross. Lucifer/Satan IS proud. He wanted to BE God; but as we all know, that was impossible. Lucifer/Satan was merely a creature of God, as we all are. So Lucifer/Satan, and approximately one third of the angels that God created rebelled; and were cast out of heaven. (Hebrew: “Satan” – adversary.) Satan has used his main vice – PRIDE – against humanity from the very beginning. Listen to what “allah” supposedly tells Mohammed: that Muslims (males) are the very BEST of creatures. What does that do? It engenders in Muslims (males particularly) a false sense of pride, which pushes them AWAY from the true God.

When Jesus heard a few of His disciples arguing about who was the greatest among them, Jesus said: “Whoever among you who wishes to be the greatest among you must be the servant of you all.” His message? Jesus (God) came to this Earth to SERVE, not to be served. Any of us who wish to be pleasing to God must imitate Christ’s life on Earth, plain and simple; and that doesn’t mean having a puffed-up ego thinking that “we are the best of creatures”. That means acknowledging who and what we are, sinners – ALL of us, whose only possible salvation was made possible by the love and sacrifice of Jesus Christ. That also means acknowledging who and what God is: Creator of all that is seen and unseen – and our Heavenly Father.

            * God does NOT deceive, nor can He be deceived. In Islam, one of the names for “allah” is “the great deceiver”.

            * God is love; and Jesus preached – and lived – God’s love. Jesus did not incite any to war or to hate others. He told His apostles to go and preach the “Good News” of salvation; and if any town did not want to hear the message, to “Shake the dust of that town from thy sandals so that it would be a testament unto them.” Islam – with its concept of “jihad” – incites Muslims to hate the “infidels”; and to “make war against them until all proclaim that there is no god but allah and mohammed is his messenger”.

            * God said to mankind: “Two ways are set before you, O man. The way of life and the way of death. Therefore choose life”. (One that I would recommend the pro-abortionists take heed.) Mohammed tells us that “there is no greater glory than to slay and to be slain for allah”.

            * God’s view of heaven is one where we enjoy eternity with our Creator. This is purely spiritual. Allah’s view of eternity is one that appeals only to the carnal lusts of man. Does that sound like what the True God would promise to those who love and serve Him? Nope. Sounds like another con from the greatest con-artist ever known: Satan. Sorry guys. There will not be 72 virgins awaiting your beck and call; and no eternal erections either. I mean really, how gullible does one need to be to believe that crap?

Are you getting the idea? If you still don’t believe me, read the Quran and haddiths. Then start reading the Bible. Above all, ask God, with a sincere and humble heart, to show you the truth. Jesus said that: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” I’ll leave you with that thought.

Nisma, You will need to read the gospel. There you will find someone who will wipe your sins away and all because of love!
Once you have done that read history. I can say that I have done the same thing and it really has helped me think straight. I have compassion for you. I think you are brave.

Nisma. I am glad you responded. With regard
to the vulgarity, as you call it, people are free to speak and critique, as you are doing, and people are growing angry
with the Christian persecution coming from Muslim countries. Try and understand that. Also, not everyone who lives in the west is Christian.

Pakistan, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Indonesia, Nigeria, Eritrea, Sudan, etc, they all have one thing in common, Islam and/or Islamic
movements, and it is not easy being non Muslim in those countries wouldn’t you agree.

Is it true when you say ’ I understand that the media has blamed the poor choices of certain minorities who
claim to do evil in the name of Allah but those individuals are misguided people’. If it were just certain
minorities then there would not be this blog! We are talking about Governments
            that are doing the persecution!

You asked ‘please find me one verse from the Quran with the reference that suggests doing harm to anybody’ I can do that; sura 9:111 and there are a lot more. Most of the nasty verses you will find in the Medina suras not the Mecca ones.

Now about Jesus the Lord. He was never a Muslim,
never a prophet of Islam. He was a jew! He was not the love child of a sexual relationship between The only one God and Mary. That is what Muslims believethe trinity is; correct me if I am wrong. The trinity is One God in three persons The Father, The Son, The Spirit. Jesus is the second person of the trinity.

Muslim critics of the New Testament object to the deity of Jesus Christ on the basis that Christ nowhere claimed to be God in the flesh. Noted, however Jesus would never say I am God because God to the Jews meant God the Father and he is
not God the Father. He prayed to God the father like this.

John 17:5 “Now, Father, glorify me together with Yourself, with the glory I had with you before the world was. Now, there is a passage in The Old testament where the Only one God says; Isaiah 42:8 “ I am The Lord, that is my name; I will not give my glory to another. Interesting, no?

Jesus, when he healed people, he forgave their sins! The Only One God does that. Get yourself a bible and read it. Jesus loves you.

2:191-193: “And slay them wherever you come upon them…”

            4:89: “They wish that you should disbelieve as they disbelieve, and then you would be equal;
therefore take not to yourselves friends of them, until they emigrate in the way of Allah; then, if they turn their backs, take them, and slay them wherever you find them; take not to yourselves any one of them as friend or helper.”

5:33: “This is the recompense of those who fight against Allah and His Messenger, and hasten about the earth, to do corruption there: they shall be slaughtered, or crucified, or their hands and feet shall alternately be struck off…”

8:12: “When thy Lord was revealing to the angels, I am with you; so confirm the believers. I shall cast into the unbelievers hearts terror; so smite above the necks, and smite every finger of them!”

8:60: “Make ready for them whatever force and strings of horses you can, to terrify thereby the
enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them that you know not; Allah knows them. And whatsoever you expend in the way of Allah shall be repaid you in full; you will not be wronged.”

9:5: “Then, when the sacred months are drawn away, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, and perform the prayer, and pay the alms, then let them go their way; Allah is All-forgiving, All-compassionate.”

9:29: “Fight those who believe not in Allah and the Last Day and do not forbid what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden — such men as practice not the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book — until they pay the tribute out of hand and have been humbled.”

9:111: “Allah has bought from the believers their selves and their possessions against the gift of Paradise; they fight in the way of Allah; they kill, and are killed; that is a promise binding upon Allah in the Torah, and the Gospel, and the Koran; and who fulfills his covenant truer than Allah? So rejoice in the bargain you have made with Him; that is the mighty triumph.”

9:123: “O believers, fight the unbelievers who are near to you; and let them find in you a harshness; and know that Allah is with the godfearing.”

47:4: “When you meet the unbelievers, smite their necks, then, when you have made wide slaughter among them, tie fast the bonds; then set them free, either by grace or ransom, till the war lays down its loads.”

          • Tim

May GOD grant the entire world peace by opening up the eyes and minds of Muslims to see what a sham their religion is and lead them to mass apostasy. Believe me, you’ll feel better once you’re no longer under the oppression of Mohammed and his fake god. You have no idea what true inner peace can be like until you’ve experienced real religious freedom and the chance to encounter God as He truly is.

          • Nisma

Firstly to those of you who are vulgar in the treatment of Muslims and Islam i don’t think you have even understood your own religion.

            American King James Version
And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, See you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

            American Standard Version
And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus: worship God; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

            Douay-Rheims Bible
And I fell down before his feet, to adore him. And he saith to me: See thou do it not: I am thy fellow servant, and of thy brethren, who have the testimony of Jesus. Adore God. For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

            Darby Bible Translation
And I fell before his feet to do him homage. And he says to me, See thou do it not. I am thy fellow-bondman, and the fellow-bondman of thy brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Do homage to God. For the spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus.

Christianity might teach tolerance (it certainly teaches us to love our enemies and turn the other cheek when treated violently), but it certainly does NOT teach us to accept other false religions. From our perspective, Mohammed came along and preached a false god, denied Christ’s godhood, and proceeded to slaughter our brothers and sisters in the faith from Arabia to N. Africa, and on into the Byzantine Empire. That slaughter has not abated in 1,400 years. The Muslims are also responsible for anihilating millions of Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Zoroastrians, etc.

Except for a limited counterattack during the Crusades in the middle of the darkest, most hopeless times of Christian history, one that eventually failed, people have never waged war in the name of Jesus. Jesus never commanded us to fight for Him. “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says God. We’re not to take vengeance into our hands. The crusaders were not following Christ in their actions.

The Jews have never attacked. They have been attacked countless times and occasionally rise up to defend themselves in Israel, as is their sovereign right as rulers of that land.
The Hindus occasionally defended themselves, but generally they live at peace with their non-Hindu neighbors. Buddhists are the most non-violent adherents of a religion on earth, but that has not stopped Muslims from slaughtering them from Afghanistan on into Thailand, right up to the present day.

Is it wrong to not tolerate intolerance? Islam is the most intolerant faith on earth, and yet you all demand that we tolerate you? No! We’re through tolerating your intolerance, we’re fed up having to deal with your violence. We’re sick and tired of a bunch of semi-literate imams intimidating everybody and making people scared of believing something different than what they believe.

Thanks to the internet and free speech, Islam’s days are numbered. The truth WILL set us free.

          • Nisma

Muhammad’s God ALlah is the same god that Christian’s and jews believe in. Allah is just our way of acknowledging the ultimate lord, the supreme creator of all. Clearly if you read your own books you would know.

          • heapologiatoutimotheou

The one-sided, vindictive, hateful god portrayed in the Quran bears ZERO resemblance to the loving, merciful God of the Bible. There have been plenty of people and angelic beings that have pretended to be God (Egyptian Pharaohs, Roman Emperors, Satan), but their actions and lack of omnipotence have clearly shown that they were not what they claimed to be.

I could call myself God until I’m blue in the face; heck, I might even be able to dupe a few people into believing it. It won’t change the fact that I am NOT God. Mohammed just duped a whole lot of people into believing that the monster he invented was truly God.

Actions speak louder than words, and if Allah were truly God, he wouldn’t have contradicted what he already said in the Bible. God is unchangeable.

Here’s another thing to consider: if Allah as portrayed in the Quran is truly almighty, then why does he need a bunch of bearded Jihadis to do his dirty work? If I’m truly blaspheming him and his ‘prophet’, then why don’t you just pray to your fictitious god and ask him to give me a heart attack or something. Why does some shahid feel the need to strap on a bunch of dynamite and blow himself up when his ‘almighty’ god ought to be capable of using an earthquake, bolt of lightning, myocardial infarction, cancer, or a meteorite to kill off those who offend him?

As a Christian, I consider it offensive when Muslims try to say their god is the same as our God. Allah is a demon pretending to be God at worst, or a figment of Mohammed’s imagination at best.

          • libuster

You are so wrong. Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. NO ONE comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6. There is NO other way to eternal life except through Jesus, God the Son. He is Lord.

          • SFTOBEY

False! Allah is simply a name that Satan used on your so-called “prophet”. Mad Mo was possessed; and the misery that islam has wrought over 14 centuries is plain for the world to see.

          • Tim

Mohammed is not deserving of the feigned respect you give him. He has brought nothing but violence, pedophilia, poverty, misery, religious intolerance, and ignorance to mankind via his false religion. I promise you he is rotting in hell alongside Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot, Nero and their ilk.

          • Nisma

Please learn about something before you speak of it otherwise you are just islamphobic.

          • Tim

I have learned about Islam. I’m just as capable of reading the intolerant hate speech the Quran is riddled with as the next person. Also, it’s not a phobia if Islamists truly are trying to kill you.

Since we’re fabricating fake phobias here, here’s one I could accuse you of being: freespeechaphobic

          • SFTOBEY

Not “Islamophobic” moron! Islamorealistic is more like it.

          • heapologiatoutimotheou

The final messenger you refer to was the Holy Spirit. He arrived ten days after Jesus ascended into heaven and enters the souls of believers in order to help guide them throughout their lives.

The Jews believe there will be a Messiah to come. Christians believe that too but think it was fulfilled by Jesus; the Jews are still waiting. Christianity thinks Jesus will come back at the end of the world.

Mohammed was an illiterate traveling salesman and pederast who saw an opportunity to create a fake religion to get himself money, power, and women. He was no different than Jim Jones with his poisoned kool-aid and David Koresh with his multiple child brides who died in a fire thanks to the FBI. The only difference was that Mohammed excelled at warfare where these other two fakes failed. Had Mo lost some of his early battles to the Meccans and Medinans, nobody would even know he existed, and the Middle East would be centuries more advanced than it currently is. The term “Dark Ages” would probably never have been invented (or “genocide” or “suicide bomber” either), and the concept of world peace might actually be something realistically attainable.

            World peace = no Islam

          • Nisma

You can’t speak of something with so much confidence when you are so completely wrong please don’t bother messaging when you are just an islamphobic. I hope Allah grants you some inner peace you talk about so the hate and resentment within you can be at rest.

          • Tim

Don’t talk to us about hate and resentment. Your false religion is founded on hatred and violence. Here’s another hate-filled quote from the ‘holy’ Quran, in case you haven’t read it yet:

“But as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them; boiling fluid will be poured down on their heads, Whereby that which is in their bellies, and their skins too, will be melted; And for them are hooked rods of iron. Whenever, in their anguish, they would go forth from thence they are driven back therein and (it is said unto them): Taste the doom of burning.” (Quran 22:19-22)

Sounds to me like allah is a vicious, vindictive bastard. More likely, Mohammed was the vicious, vindictive bastard, and he created his fake allah in his own image.

In contrast, this is what the Bible says about the love God has for us:
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).

“God is slow to anger, great in love, and forgiving of sin and rebellion.” (Numbers 14:18)

I’d rather take the word of prophets that existed 600 years or more prior to Mohammed’s invention, words that show that God loves everybody, even sinners, than the ravings of your narcissistic, hate-filled pederast.

          • mollysdad

The evidence from the 70 years after Mohammed’s reported death is that none of the Caliphs before Abd al-Malik were Muslims, and that Mohammed wasn’t even famous during that period. None of the coins in circulation before Abd al-Malik’s reign bore Koranic iniscriptions, and none bore honorific references to Mohammed.

          • libuster

Your so called holy prophet is a despicable fraud. He is a creation of Satan and so is Islam.

          • SFTOBEY

What you say is true; but I still feel that you are casting pearls to swine.

      • Rodrigo Vera

¿do you quote just part of 5:32 by mistake or purposefully?

[Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that

whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely.

And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.]

¿why would do you do that?

      • Tim

The Ka’aba is an idol that Muslims cavort around every single year during the Hajj, which they face (and simultaneously moon, thanks to living on a round earth) when they pray five times a day, and which supposedly can magically forgive someone of all their sins if they follow some Islamic ritual near it. Most notably, it looks like a gigantic vagina, meaning it was probably dedicated to some fertility goddess prior to Mohammed stealing it and redesignating it.

Oh, wait, did you just completely rip a quranic verse out of context? Let’s see the entire passage. The part you quoted, by the way, was plagiarized from the Jewish Talmud. Mohammed didn’t come up with it.

“Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in
the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors.

“Indeed, the penalty for those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and strive upon earth [to cause] corruption is none but that they be killed or crucified or that their hands and feet be cut off
from opposite sides or that they be exiled from the land. That is for them a disgrace in this world; and for them in the Hereafter is a great punishment.”

Notice the very next verse is one of the most brutal, inhuman verses in any “religious” text anywhere.

  • meqmac

These murders are, of course, terrible, whatever the motivation, and I hope the murderers are found, tried, and sentenced. But I have little time for evangelical Christians who seek to satisfy their own sense of special selection by their missionary efforts in Muslim countries. Since the first Christian missions to Muslims in the early 19th century, the missionaries have won few converts. With death the price of apostasy and with the Muslim self-image as superior to all other religions, Muslims are impervious to Christian claims to have the means of salvation. I have, in any case, only contempt for those who say that those who do not believe in Jesus are destined to hell fire and eternal pain and torment. Evangelicals should just leave Muslims alone or do good works without prattling about the superiority of their form of Christianity over any other form of religious belief. None of that justifies the murders, but trying to convert Muslims is a sure way to bring trouble on everyone concerned.

    • http://Inquisitr.com/ Wolff Bachner

You do realize you just condoned the murder of anyone who wants to express appreciation of their own faith in the Muslim world. Muslims, on the other hand, have killed 270 million human beings in the last 1400 years for the simple fact of not being Muslims and/ or refusing to convert to Islam. Any sane human being would support the right of another person to speak openly, without violence, about their beliefs.Christians have every right to share their faith without being murdered by senseless barbarians.

      • meqmac

No, I don’t condone the murders. Quite the opposite, and I thought that was clear. What I object to is the arrogance of Christians of an evangelical bent who believe they are the sole repositories of truth and the only human beings to enter paradise one day. That is exactly what Muslims believe. Islamic da’wa is an exact parallel of Christian evangelical missionizing. No sane person would take any of your myths and unproven assertions seriously. Or your miracles or your infallible scriptures or all the rest of the baggage you impose on mankind. Does it make the slightest difference to anyone what he or she converts to? You say you love all mankind, but you end up wanting to make everybody else like yourselves. How sad is that? And if readers and commentators were Muslims I’d condemn them for much the same things and for the violence that results in the deaths of innocent Christians, Baha’is, and Jews.

        • http://Inquisitr.com/ Wolff Bachner

You are hoist by your hateful petard. I am not a Christian. But I do support the right of Christians to share their faith freely anywhere , anyplace anytime without being attacked or killed.

    • Martin Grimes

I disagree with claim that ‘Muslims are impervious to Christian claims to have the means of salvation’… Not true and here is why, Muslims are being converted more now than ever before and not just among the uneducated! Imams and educators and teachers of the Qur’an are finding the truth in the gospel message and converting.I would not admit to wave upon wave of Muslims becoming Christians, but a steady stream. So they are neither so impervious nor unyielding as you would like to put forward. However, Islam is
unbending and is it for this very fact that when political Islam, Sharialaw, becomes the code of law for any state including the one we live in, you will be persecuted just like the Christians, and your freedom of speech and equal -class -citizenship will be in jeopardy or possible revoked!

Christians talking to Muslims, about how much Jesus Christ loves them and died for their sins, know the danger they face and there are more and more doing it. Muslims do not have to be told they are going to hell they know in fact in Islamic theology you have to go through hell to get to heaven.
But I do agree with you when you say ‘I have, in any case, only contempt for those who say that those who do not believe in Jesus are destined to hell fire and eternal pain and torment.’ So do I, I do prefer to say Jesus loves you.

    • nood2

Do Muslims have the right to proselytize in Western lands? Of course yes.
Should Christians have the right to proselytize in Muslim lands? I say yes. Islam says no, and we all know that Islam does not compromise.
I believe in democracy, with all it’s bad and all of it’s good.
Freedom of conscience and freedom of religion and freedom of speech, are basic democratic values.
Maybe you need to look at what is it that you really value? And is it worth standing up for those values?

    • heapologiatoutimotheou

I know multiple Muslims who have converted. They convert in droves
once they leave the autocratic hellholes they came from and enter
countries where religious freedom is the law of the land. A few brave
souls convert, despite being in Islamic regimes, and just keep their conversion secret.

Second, Christianity is awesome. Your religion, whatever it may be, probably
will never bring you the kind of joy and peace of mind that every
Christian enjoys. Hell is merely separation from your Creator – we
partially experience that right here on earth, and death becomes that
final separation. It’s not a punishment, it’s just separation from the
source of all life. Trying to meet God without Christ is like
unplugging a stereo and attempting to still get it to play music. Once
you get to know your Creator, you’ll find hell getting farther and
farther away as you get to know Him better. If you’re not experiencing
this, then your religion (or lack thereof) is worthless, and you are to
      be most pitied.

  • Martin Grimes

I knew about Joel because of a small paragraph in the Montreal Gazette, but not the others. I appreciated the photos including friends and family; it makes it all the more sad to see the slain men as husbands, fathers and teachers. What a great loss for their loved ones, my prayers are with them.
What a great example of conviction to the spreading of the gospel. I have all the confidence that these men are waiting, just like me, for the return of Christ.

I appreciate your journalism. There are not too many people in the west doing this. We need this type of reporting to balance the media.

  • Cynthia J. McCoy

This story makes me sick and thankful all at the same time. I’m broken-hearted for the families of these young men. I’m thankful that there are still folks that are willing to die for what they believe. Well, I guess I should rephrase that willing to stand for Christ. People die all the time for believing the wrong things. This is a bitter-sweet sad for the families and happy for those who went to meet Jesus and everything is good for them now!!!!!! Not so good for those of us left behind. But praise God one day Christ will come back and make all things right. All things will be made new!!!! Thank You Jesus Christ for Your great love for us!!!!!!!

  • motorsportsnz

    Remember Jesus said
If they hate you remember they hated me first.
We are not dealing with Islamic people’s but demons.
I too feel disgusted and outraged by the western useless news reports generally they too are as much a part of the overall problem
If the media learned that the problem is spiritual they would soon realise the real iwar s soon to be upon this world as was the great flood
So too with the coming world wide anialation

  • LoveFamily

It is heart breaking that we lose sense of God’s passion for the people He created. “Do justly and love mercy” – Christians are taught to overcome evil with good, place toughest standards on their own motives and actions, while advocating for mercy and true freedom for all people.

If we would use the facts as a wake-up call, I re – confirm my beliefs that human life and how we treat it are much more significant than offering words alone to say the right things. I appreciate the honest discussion here, and I sincerely desire discontinuation of hatred toward human persons. We should keep each other and our leaders accountable to uphold fair use of resources and protection of human lives.
