Regarding Tuesday’s letter about Raymond Ibrahim’s lecture at Everett Community College. (“Speaker’s view of Islam distorted“)
The letter writer says he is a consultant for the National Interreligious Initiative for Peace in the Middle East. Why doesn’t he go to Egypt and all the other Muslim countries and do something about the Muslims that are burning Christian churches and killing Christian people and burning their homes?
If Islam advocates loving neighbors, peace and reconciliation as he says, why do they riot and kill people and burn homes and churches over rumors?
Mr. Ibrahim was speaking the truth about what the Quran says. The letter stated “He ignored mainstream Islamic teachings?” Just look in the papers and on the Internet every week and you will see articles that are the result of the mainstream Islamic teachings.
As the letter writer says, the most shameless moment in the program was when Ibrahim responded that Muslims are taught to be deceitful and lie to non-Muslims; this statement is true and is quoted in the Quran where it also states that it is necessary for them to kill anyone who does not follow Islam and that we are all pigs and infidels.
Hopefully there will be more people from Muslim backgrounds who will come forward and continue to tell the truth and not use smoke and mirrors to trick people into a false religion that is really not a religion at all, but is an ideological political system that is based in fear.
